History

70 Main Street is a historic location built in 1911. The first street level merchant was Charles Robertson, who sold a “little bit of everything”, and the second floor was home to Edwin Rowley’s real estate office.

In 1925, Shepherd Scudder opened an Ice Cream and Confectionary Store – the soda fountain tile-pattern floor is still visible today! Ken Arndt Stationary Store entered the location in 1967 and remained for 27 years until 1994. The Open Gallery took over the building and opened its doors in 2004, followed by the Northport Tasting Room and wine cellar, which opened in April 2008.

Here we are today with the opening of The Wine Cellar on Main. We look forward to serving you and the Northport community for many years to come.
